Sarah Katz <\/strong>has now been released from unlawful detention in Israel. See a video of her arrival here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sarah is a 68 year old French citizen, born in Paris, with three children and five grand-children. She lives in Paris. She’s a retired researcher at CNRS, and a demographer who specializes in data analysis. Her father was Lazare Katz, a Moldavian Jew and a communist member of the Resistance in WW2. Her mother Henriette Cuisinier, also a communist and Resistance member, spent her childhood and adolescence in Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah is a member of U<\/span><\/span>nion Juive Fran<\/span><\/span>\u00e7<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>aise pour la Paix<\/span><\/span> (www.ujfp.org) and BDS, and is close to <\/span><\/span>the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) <\/span><\/span>France. She was in Gaza in 2011 with the convoy in honour of Vittorio Arrigoni, <\/span><\/span>w<\/span><\/span>he<\/span><\/span>re<\/span><\/span> s<\/span><\/span>he spent months\u00a0 (Sept 2012-April 2014) working as a volunteer teacher, and bringing support to the fishermen and the farmers with Unadikum and ISM. With Pierre Stambul she coordinated two campaigns of “Education et Partage solidaire” <\/span><\/span>Education and Sharing in Solidarity <\/i><\/span><\/span>in\u00a02016 and 2018 (see ujfp.org, \u201ca water tower for Khuzaa\u201d). <\/span><\/span>She <\/span>has written<\/span> two books on Gaza: <\/span>Chronique de Gaza<\/i><\/span> (<\/span>2016<\/span>)<\/span> and <\/span>Gens de Gaza<\/i><\/span> (<\/span>2017<\/span>)<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
