Kamarul Zaman Shaharul Anwar

Age: 56. Kamarul Zaman graduated with a BSc. Electrical Engineering from the University of New Haven, Connecticut, USA in 1986, followed by a Masters in Electrical Engineering from University Technology of Malaysia in 1997 whilst working for Motorola Semiconductor. He had 25 years of experience in Multinational Corporations (National Semiconductor Corp, Nokia Siemens Network and Motorola Corporation). His last role was as the Project Director and Country Services Lead for Motorola Networks in Malaysia.
He joined Aqsa Syarif in 2013 and was instrumental in integrating five other agencies focusing on humanitarian work in other regions to form MyCARE in 2014. Since then MyCARE
has successfully registered an office in Gaza and also received the recognition from Malaysia’s Central Bank for MyCARE’s involvement in the Financial Action Task Force audit (http://www.fatf-gafi.org). KZ is curently serving as the CEO of Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE).
He has been involved in several humanitarian aid missions:
to Gaza 2013; Lebanon and Syria in 2014; Aceh Earthquake in 2016; Borders of Turkey & Syria; Somaliland and Cox’s Bazaar in
2017. He was also a Project Team member for the Malaysian Government’s initiative to bring in the first batch of Syrian migrants from Lebanon in 2016.
