Elizabeth served as Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the Near East in the National Intelligence Council before retiring in August 2010 after a 27-year career in the US government. She specialized in Middle Eastern political and media analysis.
For the past four years she has served as Member-in-Residence of the Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action (www.gzcenter.org), a nuclear resistance organization in Poulsbo, Washington. She is a member of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) and Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence (samadamsaward.ch). She is conversant in Arabic, German, and Spanish.
